Honestly, two days are not enough to explore Busan. But still you can see some of the famous places in Busan. During your trip to Busan try to explore the city as much as you can. The city of Busan offers a wide range of attractions, such as beaches, parks, cultural villages, and markets.
There are many tourist places in Busan that you can visit. In this blog, I will describe my experience and the places I visited during my two-day trip to Busan. This detailed itinerary is entirely based on my own experience.
Day 1 In Busan :
1. Haedong Younggungsa Temple :
Start your first day by visiting Haedong Younggungsa Temple. Haedong Younggungsa Temple was built by the great Buddhist teacher Naong in 1376 during the Goryeo Dynasty. This temple distinguishes itself from the others in South Korea due to its stunning costal location.
It is said that Naong chose this location after a divine revelation in a dream, believing it to be a sacred place where the dragon kings reside. Throughout the centuries, the temple underwent numerous renovations, with its current structures mainly dating back to the 1930s.
Despite being destruction during Korean War, the temple was meticulously restored in the 1970s, preserving its architecture and cultural heritage. The most iconic feature is the Three-story Pagoda, which offers panoramic views of the sea and surrounding mountains. The main hall, Daeungjeon, house a golden Buddha statue and serves as the centre point for prayers and ceremonies.
Visitors are welcomed by the twelve zodiac animals lining the staircase, each representing a year in the lunar calendar. Haedong Younggungsa Temple is not only a spiritual havan but also a cultural treasure trove. The peaceful ambience and scenic beauty make it perfect spot for meditation.
Two hours are enough to visit this temple. After visiting this temple you can go to visit Haeundae beach.
2. Haeundae Beach :
Haeundae beach is Located at a distance of 6.5 Km away from Haedong Younggungsa Temple. From the temple it will take only 15-20 min. to reach. You will easily get the bus to reach Haeundae beach.
After a spiritually enriching morning at temple, the journey continues to Haeundae Beach. Haeundae beach is considered as one of South Korea’s most famous and vibrant coastal destination. The beach is also renowned for its beachside cafes, seafood restaurants, and vibrant nightlife, making it a popular destination.
3. Gwangalli Beach :Â
The Gwangalli Beach also called as the Gwangan beach in Busan is located at a distance of 4 Km from Haeundae beach. It is a popular tourist destination in Busan, so it is always crowded with a lot of people.
Numerous beachside cafes, restaurants, and bars offer an array of culinary delights, providing the perfect setting for an evening of relaxation and indulgence.
Day 2 In Busan :
 1. Jagalchi Fish Market :Â
The Jagalchi Fish Market is the perfect place to start your second day. Jagalchi Fish Market is located very close to the Nampo metro station. From Nampo station it will only take 10-15 min. to reach Jagalchi market by walk. Jagalchi Metro station is the second nearest station to Jagalchi market.
Jagalchi Fish Market has mainly two sections. The indoor market ( Located inside the building ) and the outdoor market.
Jagalchi Fish market is one of the biggest seafood market of South Korea, offers a unique and vibrant experience for tourist. Located along the waterfront, Jagalchi offers a fascinating glimpse into the country’s fishing heritage. The market’s name, “Jagalchi”, originates from jagal, means “self-support” in Korean language.
A fish market in Jagalchi opens between 5 and 6 in the morning and closes at 10 pm. The Jagalchi fish market is closed on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. A short walk from Nampo metro station, you will find a large market. Wander through the market’s bustling alleys, here you can find almost every type of seafood and its different varieties. Various types of seafood can be found here, from live fish and shellfish to dried seafood products.
Coming out of the market you will see a 3 story building. There is also a market in this building. The first floor also has large seafood market. There is a restaurant on the second floor where you can go and enjoy the sea food.
You have two options. The first option is to go directly to the restaurant and you can have breakfast or lunch. You can order food of your choice. Another option is to buy fish of your choice from the market on the first floor. And bring it to the restaurant on the second floor to cook.
Pro Tip :Â
To be honest, there is nothing special about this restaurant. If you are on a budget trip, I would like to suggest you not to have breakfast / lunch at this place. Because these restaurants are very expensive. Here, you won’t find a dish under 40,000 won. There is a minimum price of 50,000 won for almost all the dishes.
Despite being so expensive, it does not offer anything special. You can try it if you have a group of 4-5 people. But for me it is a waste of money. Because I can get the same dish outside the restaurant at a lower price.
I would like to hear what you think about this restaurant if you have been there before. Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to this restaurant. I would appreciate it if you could share your experience at this restaurant. Thanks!!
2. Gamecheon Cultural Village :
After visiting the Jagalchi Fish market go to see Gamecheon cultural village. Gamechoen cultural village is one of the most famous and must visit village in Busan. This village is situated at a distance of 4 Km from Jagalchi fish market.
A trip to Busan is incomplete without visiting this amazing village. It is well known for its vibrant colors, street art, and cultural significance. The narrow alleys of Gamecheon Cultural Village are adorned with colorful murals, sculptures, and statues created by local artist. Each artwork tells a unique story, capturing the essence of the village’s history and its people.
While exploring Gamecheon, try to interact with the local people, and experience the creative spirit of village. Don’t forget to collect stamps at various locations for a unique gamecheon passport as a souvenir of your artistic journey.
3. Songdo Beach :Â
After the village you can go to visit Songdo Beach, another famous beach in Busan, South Korea. Songdo beach is located at a distance of 3.4 Km from Gamecheon Cultural Village.
Songdo beach, established in 1913, is the first public beach in south korea and offers a serene escape from the city bustle. The highlight of Songdo Beach is the “cloud Walk”, a stunning skywalk with glass-bottomed sections that gives breathtaking views of the sea below.
For more thrilling experience, the Songdo Skywalk cable car offers panoramic views of the coastline. The cable car journey provides a unique perspective of Busan landscape, making it an ideal view point for photography enthusiasts.
4. Experience The Busan’s Nightlife :Â
As the sun sets over Songdo Beach, transition into the vibrant energy of Busan’s nightlife. The city comes alive with a lot of entertainment options, from trendy bars and clubs to cultural performances and street food stalls.
Seomyeon, Gwangali, and Haeundae are well known for their nightlife. Seomyeon, with its neonlit streets, is a popular destination for bars and late night shopping. Gwangali Beach is another hotspot, offering beachside bars and clubs with stunning views of the Gwangan Bridge. Haeundae beach area boasts a mix of lounges and pubs.
